Its a lot drier on the East side of the Cascades and the the elevation is high enough that our frost free period is just about July. Tough growing a garden but I love the high desert and recommend it for anybody. Major lifestyle changes in the last couple of months, decided to retire at the end of the year and found out I will have a grandchild to spend time with.
